12. Nicole Richie Takes A Wrong Turn On The Freeway

Nicole Richie was arrested and charged with DUI in late 2006, following an arrest for driving in the wrong direction on a California freeway.

Luckily, no one was injured during the incident, and Richie admitted she had taken Vicodin and smoked marijuana before getting behind the wheel.

She was found in her Mercedes SUV in the carpool lane, talking on her cell phone. Richie was sentenced to 4 days in jail and a fine of $2,048, while house arrest was not an option for the judge presiding over her case.

This was the second time Richie had been convicted of DUI, the first one being in 2003 and involving alcohol.
