Once considered one of the most solid relationships in Hollywood, Harrison Ford and Melissa Mathison’s marriage came to an end in 2001, when they filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences”.

The couple were married for 18 years and had two children together, but Ford’s middle-age crisis was more than Mathison could bear.

After numerous public affairs and bachelor-like behaviour on Ford’s part, his wife decided enough was enough. As there was no prenup, Mathison walked away with a sizable bounty worth $90 million, which is a small fraction of Ford’s fortune as one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood, but it still made the list of the costliest break-ups in history.
