12. James Cameron’s divorce from Linda Hamilton – $50 million

James Cameron has certainly been around the block, having been married 5 times, and Linda Hamilton was wife number 4. Their marriage only lasted for 8 months, and Linda later went on to describe it as “terrible on every level”.

They married in 1997, the year Cameron released Titanic, and although it brought him 11 Oscars, it resulted in dissolution of his marriage to Hamilton.

James and Linda had been living together during the filming of Titanic, when Cameron fell for Suzy Amis who played a small role in the movie. After having decided to leave Amis, he went back to Hamilton and married her, only to divorce her less than a year later. He married Amis in 2000, and they have been going strong ever since.
