Nas comes from a Muslim/Christian home and has expressed devotion to both religions on numerous occasions, particularly in his lyrics.

Considered one of the most talented hip hop artists in history, Nas was born Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones to a Muslim father and a Christian mother in 1973 and was raised in New York, which was highly influenced by the Five-Percent Nation at the time, an organization founded by a follower of Malcolm X and a former member of the Nation of Islam, Clarence Edward Smith.

Nas also expensively studied from both the Bible and the Qur’an, and has embraced the religious beliefs of his parents.
