14. Ellen Burstyn

The 82-year-old actress famous for her long career and roles in motion pictures including “Exorcist” and “Requiem for a Dream”, Ellen Burstyn converted to Islam in her thirties after a troubled childhood, three failed marriages and professional problems.

The actress found Sufi, an Islamic sect appealing to Dr. Oz as well, and despite being raised Catholic, after finding her Sufi mentor and teacher Burstyn managed to turn her life around and get in touch with her spiritual side.

The actress praises the religion for helping her get back on track, focus on her roles and generally find peace in everything she does.
