Jemima Khan, a world-famous British journalist and heiress, born Jemima Marcelle Goldsmith to the prominent Goldsmith family, converted to Islam right before marrying a renowned Pakistani cricket player Imran Khan in an Islamic wedding ceremony in Paris.

Shortly after the wedding, daughter of Sir James Goldsmith and Lady Annabel Vane-Tempest-Stewart moved to Pakistan, where she learned Urdu and practiced Islam.

Following her husband’s political involvement in his homeland, Jemima left the country in the midst of an incident which she claimed was fabricated to damage her husband.

The heiress and Imran Khan ended up divorcing after 9 years of marriage, citing Jemima’s difficulties to adjust to the Pakistani lifestyle.
