Although athletes usually don’t promote their personal lives as much as Hollywood stars do, there were situations where professional sportsmen simply had to share a piece of their lives with the rest of us.

Rumors about Tom Daley being gay circled the media in 2013, but the Olympic British diving champion denied all of them.

However, in December 2013, Daley came out of the closet by posting a video on YouTube.

In the video, the diver admitted he was in a relationship with a man, saying: “It was always in the back of my head that something like that could happen, but it wasn’t until spring this year that something just clicked… My whole world just changed, right there and then.”
