4. Anderson Cooper
As one of the most well known TV anchors, Anderson Cooper never gave us any real hint that he was gay.
However, once the rumors started rolling, the public started seeing it in him more and more, and by the time he admitted it, we basically already knew.
Although Cooper avoided discussing his private life in interviews, The New York Times labeled him as “the most prominent openly gay journalist on American television.”
The famous anchor came out in 2012 in a letter he sent to fellow journalist and friend Andrew Sullivan.
In the letter, Cooper said: “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud.”
