The “Family Ties” star, Meredith Baxter, was actually married three times to men before she finally gave in to her homosexuality and came out as a lesbian.

She was married to Robert Lewis Bush and they former couple had two children (Theodore Justin Ted, born in 1967, and Eva Whitney, born in 1969), but they divorced in 1971.

Three years later, Meredith married David Birney, with whom she had three children (Kathleen Jeanne Kate and twins Mollie Elizabeth and Peter David Edwin), but they divorced in 1989.

The actress married for the third 6 years later when she tied the knot with the actor and screenwriter Michael Blodgett, but they were divorced in 2000.

In 2009, Baxter revealed on “Today” that she is a lesbian and had been living with partner Nancy Locke since 2006. Nancy and Meredith married in December 2013.
