Number 1 slot is, of course, reserved for Elton John, arguably one of Hollywood’s most famous gay men. Early on in his career, before the singer officially came out, Elton claimed to be bisexual, and this world-renowned singer indeed dated various women and men, and even married his close friend and sound engineer, Renate Blauel, back in 1984.

The marriage, however, lasted only three years and many thought the marriage was just a cover for his homosexuality. In 1988, only a year after the marriage ended, John revealed to “Rolling Stone” magazine that he was finally comfortable being gay. In 2005, Elton married his longtime partner, David Furnish.
