“The Big Yin,” also known as Billy Connolly, always was bit eccentric. Naturally, the accident in which the comedian, actor, presenter and musician participated was just as weird.

While filming his Route 66 TV show in 2011, Connolly broke a rib and injured his knee when his trademark trike fell on top of him. Yes, the trike fell on top of him.

Regarding the accident, the 71-year-old actor says: “I was weighed down and the trike went over. I have a purple patch on my knee that you will only see when I wear my kilt. I will lie to people that it was shrapnel.”
