Bill Murray won his first Emmy award after more than 30 years, but the legendary actor didn’t show up for the ceremony, which got people wondering where he was. Maybe he yet again crashed some random pub and paid for everyone’s drinks.
No, it wasn’t anything like that. The star wasn’t on hand to collect the award for his supporting role in the HBO mini-series Olive Kitteridge, because Bill was actually attending his son’s wedding in Philadelphia.
Priorities
Luke just tied the knot with Kara Cassidy, and the groom’s proud father naturally at the crime scene to light up the whole event, something which the actor is pretty good at.
The news was confirmed when Bill’s long-term friend, Kelly Lynch, shared a picture the movie star at the ceremony, captioning it:
“Another reason I <3 #BillMurray – he wins an #Emmy but is at his son’s wedding #priorities.”
Another Instagram photo from the nuptials showed Murray rocking out on stage with the wedding bend. The members of the live band called him and Bill got up on the stage to perform with them.
“Bill Murray jumped on stage and rocked out with us…” the caption read.
