Lo and behold! Will and Kate have announced the name of their baby Princess.

The latest addition to the royal family, daughter of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Princess of Cambridge is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

Baby girl will officially be known as “Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge”.

In the end, Charlotte beat Alice and emerged as the winner in the baby-name race created by bookmakers, who made Alice their clear favorite. Interestingly enough, name betting for Princess Charlotte drew in more wagers than the General Election.

On a different note, William has been honoring the memory of his mother every chance he gets, starting with proposing to Kate with late Diana’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring and now by including Diana’s name in his daughter’s name.

Notwithstanding the fact that Diana has been a great influence on Will, the Duke and Duchess are “hugely fond of” Queen Elizabeth, so it doesn’t come as a surprise she made it into their daughter’s name.
