Controversial Lana Del Rey and her “dark-character” boyfriend Barrie-Jamies O’Neill have broken up. “We are currently not together,” the 28-year-old singer allegedly told a German outlet when asked to confirm rumors that she’d gotten engaged to O’Neill.

“He is a wonderful person. But there are some things with which he has to deal. I will not explain it in detail. This was hard on our relationship,” said the diva confirming the end of her three-year relationship earlier this week, in an interview with Switzerland’s “20 Minuten” newspaper.

It appears that Lana felt suffocated: “This was hard on our relationship, I no longer felt free. We’ll see how it goes.”

Just several weeks prior to the break up, Lana admitted: “We have a difficult road ahead of us. He’s a very dark character. He has months on end where it’s a really dark stretch of writing and waiting. He has his total own world.”

Lana is still recovering and trying to atone for some serious comments she made for “The Guardian”.

The singer (real name Elizabeth Woolridge Grant), stated how she saw glamour in an early death. “I wish I was dead already,” she said. “I do! I don’t want to have to keep doing this. But I am,” presumptuously alluding to her ‘membership’ for the well-known “27 Club”.

Lana Del Rey has been spotted spending time with her family and was pictured in Paris with her parents and her sister as she tried to put her recent heartbreak behind her. And what better way to do that than taking a trip to the city of light.
