Sofia Vergara and her fiancée, Joe Manganiello, are currently one of the most talked about couples in Hollywood, but the actress recently revealed that she almost refused to date Joe as she though he was “too handsome” and he would be too much work.

Sofia obviously referred to all the girls that would be, and now are, “throwing themselves” at Joe.

However, the actress says she can understand her fiancée’s female fans completely and that she doesn’t mind having to fight off the competition.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Sofia opened up about the beginning of their relationship.

“I didn’t want to go into the relationship with somebody that I thought it would be so much work. Girls were throwing themselves at him, so I’m like, ‘No, I want somebody normal’.”

Now that she is marrying the guy, the actress realized just how popular and handsome Joe actually is. “Girls don’t care!” Sofia added. “”Have you seen him? I understand it, I don’t judge them.”

Wedding Plans

The Colombian actress also discussed her upcoming wedding, and said that they are not planning a huge Hollywood wedding that would be in all the newspapers. Instead, they are going with the “traditional” nuptials.

“We’re not doing anything crazy,” she said, “We’re doing a traditional wedding.” She also added that they won’t be following the American tradition of having bridesmaids at the ceremony.

“It would be torture. I don’t think that tradition would have ever lasted one second in Latin America. How do you pick your bridesmaids?

All your cousins are your best friends – the whole wedding would be dressed in the same outfit!” joked Sofia.
