North Korea denies any involvement in the Sony hacking and proposes a joint investigation with the US to prove it had nothing to do with the attack. The Pyongyang officials warn of serious consequences if Washington rejects their offer.

“We have a way to prove that we have nothing to do with the case without resorting to torture, as the CIA does,” an unidentified North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Saturday, adding that the U.S. lacks any specific evidence tying North Korea to the hacking.

The FBI blames the North Korean government for the Sony hacking attack, which resulted in confidential, racy and inappropriate information being leaked to the media. Anyone who is newsworthy, from Jennifer Lawrence to Leonardo DiCaprio, has been affected and slammed by the comments from emails exchanged between Sony execs.

“The Interview”, a comedy about a plot to assassinate North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, is seen as the motive for the attack. The movie was set to be released on Christmas Day, but was cancelled due to threats of terrorist attacks on movie theaters.
