Legendary singer and songwriter Joni Mitchell, a woman who forever changed music, influenced people in the 60’s and paved the way for generations and generations of women in the industry, was rushed to the hospital on March 31st.
The legendary 60’s and 70’s musician is currently in intensive care, undergoing tests, and is feeling fine.
A statement was issued right on her website, which read: “Joni was found unconscious in her home this afternoon. She regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to an LA area hospital. She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits. More updates to come as we hear them. Light a candle and sing a song, let’s all send good wishes her way.”
The Grammy-awarded folk musician was a key member of the Woodstock generation. During her rich career she he has received eight Grammy awards, including a lifetime achievement award in 2002, and she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame five years prior to that.
Mitchell released a career-spanning four-disc box set in 2014, and appeared at Clive Davis’s annual pre-Grammy party this past February. She recently revealed that she has a rare skin condition which prevents her from performing.
