To the surprise of many, Joan Rivers was not mentioned in the In Memoriam section at the 87th Academy Awards on Sunday.

The Academy pays tribute to those it lost in the past year on Hollywood’s biggest night in the In Memoriam section, honorably mentioning all those who left a mark on the film industry but passed away between the two ceremonies.

Lo and behold, the likes of Bob Hoskins, Robin Williams and Richard Attenborough were mentioned in the In Memoriam section but Joan Rivers was left out!

The late comedian practically put the Oscars red carpet on the map with her witty comments and ruthless Fashion Police, but apparently did not deserve a spot in the tribute section from the Academy.

Comedian Billy Eichner commented on the omission: “No Joan Rivers in the montage??? She basically created the red carpet which makes all of these b****s millions. For shame!!!”.

Joan Rivers passed away in 2014 during throat surgery at the age of 81.
