The Friends star has spoken recently for Today magazine and in the interview Jennifer opened up about motherhood and stated that she feels a constant pressure when it comes to society’s expectations about marrying and having children.
Jennifer haven’t birthed a child, but have many other things
The 45-year-old actress has been engaged to her fellow actor and fiancé, Justin Theroux for two years now, and while speaking for the Today she admitted she is quite annoyed by the series of cliché questions she is frequently faced with.
It’s just constant. It’s like, I don’t know!” said Jennifer, clearly irritated.
“I don’t have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and if they’re not checked, then I’ve failed some part of my feminism or my value as a woman because I haven’t birthed a child.
I’ve birthed a lot of things and feel like I’ve mothered many things, and I don’t think it’s fair to put that pressure on people.”
The actress also said that she didn’t have any regrets about any period of her life and talked about how proud she was of herself and of how far she had come.
“I feel like I’ve grown up three times,” said the star. “I feel like I’ve had three different periods of adolescence. I’ve had an incredible evolution. I keep seeing these little lifetimes that I lived, and they’re all so wonderful. They all served me so well… I feel very grateful to my evolution and my history. I would never exchange it for anything.”
Do we hear wedding bells?
The couple has not revealed the official wedding date yet, but the two lovebirds are said to be marrying “right by the ocean” and are planning a low-key ceremony.
“It will be a beach meets California modern-chic sort of thing and it is going to be out of the country,” said Kevin Lee, their wedding planner.
