Women across the world had their hearts broken on the recent announcement of George Clooney’s engagement to Amal Alamuddin. In reality, of course, there was never any chance of most women meeting Mr. Clooney, but the dream was alive so long as he was still single.

Mr. Clooney was regarded as one the world’s most eligible bachelors and many believed he would never settle down, so the news came as a shock when it broke on social media.

Adding to the shock of the engagement news is the choice of the future Mrs. Clooney. After dating a string of actresses and supermodels, George has chosen to spend the rest of his life with a British human rights lawyer.

In some ways this isn’t a surprise, as he’s known for his political views and involvement in humanitarian issues, but it was generally expected Mr. Clooney would eventually marry an A-list celebrity.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Miss Alamuddin is stunningly attractive. She may not fit the profile most people expected, but the couple will rank as one of the most beautiful in the world.

Miss Almaddin has been spotted wearing a stunning ring, and the couple have celebrated their engagement with friends and family. A date for the wedding hasn’t been set, but it looks as if George is off the market for good.
