The apple obviously doesn’t fall far from the tree, and the apple’s name is Lourdes Leon.
Madonna’s daughter has firmly decided to follow her mom’s footsteps and she’s making the first step this fall when she will be joining the student body at the University of Michigan, the Detroit Free Press reports.
As an incoming freshman, Lourdes, now has a profile in the campus directory that says she is studying in U-M’s School of Music, Theatre & Dance, just like Madonna did nearly 40 years ago.
Madonna attended the college back in the ’70s after receiving a dance scholarship. Fortunately(?) she dropped out in 1978 in order to pursue her dreams of becoming the superstar she is today.
She has just graduated from the prestigious performing arts LaGuardia High School in New York City and as “New York Daily News” reports, she has recently been cast as the leader of the “Pink Ladies” in the school’s production of “Grease”.
“I want my daughter to go to school there. I keep telling her, Ann Arbor is an awesome place,” the Grammy award winning star stated in an interview for the NFL Network back in 2012. Her wish has apparently come true.
Young Lourdes Leon is simply gorgeous and given her pedigree, there is no doubt she’s going to make it. Whether or not she will echo her mom’s gigantic success, only time will tell. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
