12. Hugh Jackman: James Bond in Casino Royale
Jackman turned down the role because he said that he didn’t want to get typecast in an action role. He has cited the example of several other actors who played Bond and then felt boxed in by the stigma of the role.
Instead of taking on the part of 007, Jackman has spanned several different genres by playing the lead in the musical “Les Miserables” as well as continuing to show off his body as Wolverine in “X-Men.”
Now that time has passed, however, Jackman says he would be ready to play Bond if he is ever asked again.
Despite attempting to vary his career with roles in movies such as “The Fountain” and “Australia”, Jackman will always be known as Wolverine. In order to prepare for the role, Jackman watched fellow actor Clint Eastwood in the “Dirty Harry” movies to get an idea of how to portray emotion through a character that had very little dialogue.

The handsome actor also had some trouble with the razor sharp claws he was required to wear for his scenes and told reporters “I’ve got scars on one leg, punctures straight through the cheek, on my forehead. I’m a bit clumsy. I’m lucky I didn’t tell them that when I auditioned.”
