Award-accepting speeches can go from funny to moving to vulgar in mere seconds, but if we had to choose the best speech of this year’s Golden Globe Awards, it would have to be Michael Keaton’s tear-shedding speech.

Once he was pronounced as winner of the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy for his role in “Birdman,” Keaton got up to the stand a gave the most touching speech ever!

The 63-year-old actor started strong: “Thank you very much. Thank you. The reason people go on about thanking so many people is there are always so many people to thank.”

“In the household in which I was raised, the themes were pretty simple,” he continued. “Work hard, don’t quit, be appreciative, be thankful, be grateful, be respectful. Also don’t whine ever. Don’t complain and always, for crying out loud, keep a sense of humor.”

Keaton then went on, mentioning his parents and ending up with his son. This is where he couldn’t hold it anymore: “My best friend is kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful. Did I say ‘kind’? He also happens to be my son, Sean. I love you with all my heart, buddy.

After choking up a bit and shedding a few tears, Michael Keaton thanked his friends and family once again and left the stage.

Who knew the ex-Batman could have such a soft heart? We certainly didn’t, but since he showed us, he deserves to grand prize of the best speech on 2015 Golden Globe Awards!
