Gabrielle Union was raped at gunpoint at the age of 19 while she was working at a Payless Shoes store.

Union kept the incident to herself for years before finally briefly opening up on The View in 2014. Union’s attacker was an employee from another Payless Shoes store, who robbed the store and raped one more person.

The 41-year-old actress sued the retail chain for negligence, and claims that made her feel better, but warns the parents to be extra careful when allowing their children to enter the workforce at a young age.

Mrs. Dwayne Wade also said she didn’t want to be labeled as a victim, and shared her story to encourage others to overcome suffering as best as they can.
