6. Mayim Bialik

We all know Mayim from her part in “The Big Bang Theory” where she brilliantly portrays a socially unadapted neuroscientist who falls in love with equally awkward Sheldon Cooper and the two have probably one of the weirdest relationships ever seen on television.

Well, that same neuroscientist from the aforementioned sitcom IS actually a neuroscientist in real life as well. How about that!

Talking about her dual life as a scientist and a television star, Mayim says the two aren’t that different after all.

“Well, I mean, I’m still a scientist, you know. I think once a scientist, always a scientist. You know, there’s a tremendous amount of genetic propensity not necessarily for what TV shows you like but for literally how you view the world, how you react to things, how things touch you and how things move you.”

She attended Walter Reed Junior High School and North Hollywood High School in North Hollywood, California. She later chose to attend UCLA, although she also had been accepted to both Harvard and Yale. Mayim turned down these two famous Universities simply because she wanted to stay close to her beloved parents.

She also plays piano, trumpet, bass guitar, as well as the harp which she learned to play for “The Big Bang Theory.”

“Mayim” means “water” in Hebrew.
