8. Keith Moon
Back in 1970, Moon killed his friend, driver and bodyguard, Neil Boland, outside the Red Lion pub in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
Pub patrons began to attack his Bentley and Keith started driving to escape them. Needless to say, he was drunk as a skunk and during this rumpus, Keith hit Boland with his car killing his friend instantly.
After an investigation, the coroner ruled Boland’s death an accident and Moon received an absolute discharge after being charged with a number of minor offences.
The drummer’s friends said that he was haunted by Boland’s death for the rest of his life. According to Pamela Des Barres, Moon had frequent nightmares about the incident and said he had no right to be alive.
