14. Randy Quaid
Well, this guy is an example of how one bad movie is able to ruin your entire career.
Randy Quaid is an American actor nominated for a Golden Globe, BAFTA and an Academy Award for his role in “The Last Detail.”
Quaid also won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of U.S. President Lyndon Johnson in “LBJ: The Early Years”. Quaid is well known for his roles in the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies, “Brokeback Mountain,” “Independence Day” and “Kingpin”.
So, what went wrong?
Randy and his wife Evi have made a lot of headlines for their legal and financial issues. They met around 2000 when the two made an indie film which later turned out to be a financial disaster. Ironically enough, the movie was called “The Debtors” and its flop caused them major financial troubles which resulted in their declaring bankruptcy. In 2004 they were accused of tax evasion and were also arrested for skipping out on a hotel bill in 2009.
