9. Mercedes Ruehl

Mercedes Ruehl is a successful theater, television, and film actress, who also managed to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1992, and a Tony Award one year prior to her Oscar, but Mercedes also has one interesting story from the beginning of her career.

Back in the mid 70s, the star gave birth to her son, Christopher, but decided she wasn’t quite ready for such a commitment, so the actress gave up her son for adoption.

In 1976, Christopher found his new home and was placed with adoptive parents, however, Mercedes managed to track her son down and the two reunited years later.

The interesting thing is that Chris is now the godfather to her other son that she adopted. Crazy story, indeed.
