You could only get away with saying that you’re gay, then saying that you’re bisexual, and then marrying two women and having children if you were Bowie.

The legendary musician did something important, something that was not so obvious at first, but we’re starting to understand it now – he liberated himself and the world from the limitations of sexual orientation.

The world was shocked when he “came out” back in the day, only to be equally as shocked when the statement turned out to be just a publicity stunt and attention trap. However, as Bowie started to decline identifying sexually in a fixed manner, we slowly started freeing people from the mundane stereotypical boxes of sexual orientation.
