With an estimated $1 billion to his name, former Beatle singer Sir Paul McCartney may be the last celebrity that you’d expect to be frugal.

However, his daughter Stella McCartney, who is a successful fashion designer, can prove otherwise.

Stella has referred to her famous father as a “tight bastard,” adding that he refused to pay for her college tuition unless she chose to attend an affordable state school.

Paul has also been given a hard time by his friends and colleagues for being cheap, as he famously made party guests buy their own drinks at a birthday celebration that he held for his ex-wife Heather Mills.

During their divorce, Heather Mills took a jab at Paul by stating that one of the reasons behind their breakup was the ex-Beatle’s refusal to spend any money on charity.

While Heather felt that Paul had a duty to give back to Britain after being idolized by the world for decades, Paul apparently disagreed and preferred to hold onto his fortune. While there is nothing wrong with penny-pinching, it seems that Paul has taken this mindset overboard. At 72 years old, you’d think that Paul would feel a little more confident in his financial situation.
