Most of us would by lying if we said we didn’t have reveries about being a movie star. We fantasize about the glitz and glamor and fame and fortune, but the reality is, it is not uncommon for Hollywood’s biggest stars to die young and under mysterious circumstances. While not all of Hollywood’s mysteries include a death, some of the most intriguing do.

1. Marilyn Monroe’s Death

Considering the powerful company she kept — presidents, congressmen, and baseball hall-of-famers — the fact that her lovers included some of the most powerful men on the planet, speculation leads one to wonder if Marilyn knew something(s) that those controlling the shadier underbelly of politics didn’t want her to ever bring to light. The age at which she died and the timing and circumstances of her death are enough to make one wonder…

2. The Lees

Both Bruce Lee and his son Brandon died under mysterious circumstances.

They were the two biggest names in martial arts of their respective generations.

Bruce’s death was ruled an accidental overdose after it was decided his heart failed from a combination of aspirin and mild sedatives he had taken for a headache.

Brandon was shot on a movie set when live ammunition was accidentally loaded into a pistol for a gunfight scene.

While both stories are certainly believable, the strangeness of each and the two incidents in combination lead one to wonder if there was something darker than mere fate at work.

3. O. J. Simpson

The general consensus is that OJ killed his wife and her lover out of jealous rage, yet was acquitted because the L.A. Police Department’s Mark Furmann blundered-up the case. However, there were — and still are — rumors of gambling debts and ties with the mob. Is it possible that OJ was actually framed?

4. David Carradine

The martial artist’s death is one of the most intriguing of all. While it is possible that he accidentally hung himself during a bizarre, private ritual, there are those that believe he was murdered and that the crime scene was staged to look like an accident.

5. Heath Ledger

Like Marylin Monroe, Ledger’s death was ruled a drug overdose. While he was notorious for using recreation and prescription drugs, the drugs in his system were not found in the hotel room where he died. Doctors ruled that his death was not a suicide, so it is assumed that his death was it accidental. Or something all together different?

6. Natalie Wood

Though the case is decades old, the circumstances of her death keep stirring interest. Not only was her drowning mysterious, but the fact that the two men on the boat with her — Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken — are both still alive, yet refuse to speak about the accident even to this day, leads many to wonder if she really slipped of the deck of the yacht and into the water. Might she have been pushed as many conspiracy theorists speculate?

7. Tupac Shakur

He was killed in front of hundreds of people in Las Vegas after a Mike Tyson fight, yet no suspects have ever been questioned in the matter. How is that possible?

8. Whitney Houston

While her death was described as an overdose in the official police report, strange rumors about Houston began surfacing after she died. One of the strangest was that Houston made a deal with the devil in the early 1980’s and after she used up all of her talent, a Hollywood based devil worshiping cult murdered her. It was also suggested the Bobby Brown was her ”handler” for the cult. Considering what a devil Bobby Brown is, could it be possible?

9. 50 Cent

Incredibly, after being shot in the face and the neck, 50 Cent survived. However, the would-be assassin was never apprehended. Though 50 Cent hasn’t experienced any other near-death assaults, his close friend Mazaradi Fox was killed in January of 2014 by a gunman wearing a ski mask leading many to wonder what exactly it is that 50 Cent and his crew are into that is creating so much animosity.

10. Andy Kaufman

While legally dead, many people wonder if Kaufman is still alive. An actor/comedian known for his outlandish behavior and strange practical jokes, it has been speculated that he faked his own death and continues to appear in movies and sit-coms. In November of 2013, his brother told CNN that he was the victim of a hoax and that his brother is alive and well.
