9. Freddie Mercury
One of the reasons behind this is also his HIV diagnosis and the way he handled it. Mercury was diagnosed with AIDS in 1987; however, he did not reveal his condition until 1991.
At the time, Mercury said that he felt he should keep that information private in order to protect the ones close to him. However, later on he realized that it was the right time to tell the truth.
He also said that he wished that everyone would join him and his doctors in the fight against the terrible disease. He died in November 1991.
