Eric Wright, known better by his stage name Eazy E, was a NWA and solo rapper. Considered to be one of the greatest artists of the hip hop genre, Eazy E is also known as one of the first celebs that revealed that they were HIV positive.

Wright was admitted to a hospital with what he believed to be asthma in 1995, but he was diagnosed with AIDS instead. His promiscuous behavior is said to be the cause for the rapper’s disease, which he announced in a public statement less than a month after being diagnosed.

In his statement, Wright said that “he has thousands and thousands of young fans who have to learn what’s real when it comes to AIDS.” Eazy E died one month and two days after being diagnosed.
