Ok, not for real, but the singer IS taking a serious break from all social media, which kind of is disappearing for real.

Ed Sheeran used his Instagram account to inform his fans that he will be taking a break from social media and that he is going to take some time off to travel.

The 24-year-old star left his 16 million Twitter followers and 5.5 million Instagram fans in shock and awe yesterday when he wrote this pretty straightforward message to them.

“Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed,” the singer wrote and continued:

“To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand my buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the third album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn and thank you for being amazing.”

So, the break is apparently not going to be a short one, but for all of you Sheeran fans out there – don’t fret, for you will have the opportunity to see him making a cameo in one of the most anticipated movies of 2016, “Bridget Jones’ Baby”.
